Welcome to FocusGate Pictures' latest blog, where we're thrilled to share the magic of our collaboration with Skylarks Choir, a fantastic community choir in Birmingham. Together, we crafted a charming music video for their Christmas song, "Carousel," marking the choir's remarkable 10-year journey. Written and composed by Nessa Parava and produced by David McCabe, this project took us inside the BHX Recording Studio for a day filled with joy and music-making.
Our cameras rolled as Skylarks Choir and Nessa gathered at BHX Recording Studio. With Christmas hats and festive outfits, the atmosphere was lively and warm. Members recorded their harmonies with passion as the vocals echoed through the studio. David McCabe, in the control room, expertly mixed and produced the perfect blend. The song starts off at a steady pace, with verses about some of the delights of Christmas as well as the quest to find peace. The rhythm of the words quickens and then different melodies are layered, aiming to mirror the busyness and pressures the festive period can bring. There is a joyous feeling of togetherness as the song reaches its conclusion
